Unexpectedly warm customer service from JetBlue

Posted by Wendy Weber

I am surprised and impressed.

My son will be entering the freshman class at Tulane University in the fall, and I wanted to arrange for him, myself, and my ex-husband to fly down to New Orleans this fall.  I wasn’t certain how to book 3 flights to New Orleans, with only 2 return flights to New York, so I sent a note to Jet Blue customer service through their website.

This is what I got in return – less than 24 hours later:

“Hello Wendy,

Thank you for contacting JetBlue Airways.  It is our pleasure to assist you.

Congratulations to your son for embarking on the great adventure of college!  When making a reservation that will have more passengers on the outbound flight than will be traveling on the return, it is best to book as two separate itineraries.  So, for your flight to New Orleans you’ll book one-way travel for the three of you and then book a separate reservation for you and your husband to return.

I hope that helps.  Best wishes to you and your family.  We look forward to welcoming you onboard soon but until then, may all your skies be JetBlue!

Sincerely,

Angie

I don’t think I have ever received such a warm, personal response from a customer service agent.  Though not necessary, it was appreciated.  I was already partial to JetBlue, because of their good prices, free bag check and tv screens at each seat.  With extraordinary service like this, I have one more reason to love them.
