How to Use Email Marketing to Drive More Revenue!

I attended an interesting meeting of the DMA of Long Island on using email marketing to drive more revenue.

Email is not a new channel, so I wondered whether there would be much to learn on this topic. But speaker Amir Chitayat of OpenMoves Inc., an email marketing and search marketing technology firm, was both informative and engaging.

For example…who do you think is the #1 sender of email in the world? It’s Facebook.

He also pointed out the importance of sending out email that is quality both in terms of its appearance and content, because, as he pointed out, more eyeballs will see your emails than will ever see your website. I know I have given much more consideration to my website than I give to the emails I send out.

Amir also said that we should look at our lists more critically. If we see that there is a segment that, over a course of 5 years, has never opened an email, it is time to remove them from the list. Sounds obvious…but have you done that?

All in all, a worthwhile session. Covering the basics…with a twist.
