Giving notice via text message??!

The Adobe Consumer Email Survey Report 2017, carried out by Advantis, revealed some fascinating insights about utilizing smartphones, and specifically, giving notice at their place of employment.

Although the vast number of survey respondents still quit their jobs in person (76%), 11% feel it’s appropriate to notify their employer they are leaving via email.  And it is absolutely shocking that 3% of people give notice via text message!  I can only imagine that these are relationships that are already frayed, and that the departing employee is not expecting to use their employer as a reference.

My goodness, how about sitting down to thank your employer for the opportunities they have afforded you, and leaving the door open for staying in touch in the future?
