Meeting of NYC Digital Marketing Professionals July Meetup

Tonight I attended my first meeting of the “NYC Digital Marketing Professionals Meetup”.  I’m not sure what I was expecting, but this wasn’t it.

Which is not to say it wasn’t interesting.

Three start-ups presented their companies:

Canvs, an “interactive guide for the best street art experience in your community”.

Then Iuncta, “an optimized and effective networking experience”:

And finally, Entree, an “intuitive app that helps you decide what meal to order online”:

All 3 apps are currently “live”.  After the 3 entrepreneurs made their presentations, Meetup leader Richard Fallah did a presentation on Live Streaming.

Although all of the presentations were interesting, none were relevant to the type of recruiting we do, which runs the gamut from ecommerce to email marketing to digital marketing to web merchandising/usability/analytics to search and social.

There were about 20 people in attendance, which I’m told is low for this Meetup.  I’ll give it another go in the months to come.
